2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot "Mollis®", Alto Adige, Italy

Slightly smoky and moderately woody, somewhat warm aroma of ripe black berries with red fruit and restrained floral tones, tomato notes as well as a little leather, dried mushrooms and bacon. Ripe, rather dark fruit with tart, somewhat smoky wood spice, relatively present, still a little drying tannin, earthy and dried mushroomy notes on the palate, a hint of tobacco, pepper and bacon, somewhat chalky-salty in the background, dried vegetal notes, good to very good, only slightly bitter-woody finish.
