2021 Chianti Classico DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Nutty, slightly leathery and a hint of tobacco on the nose, predominantly dark berries with plum tones, black olives and floral nuances. Clear, relatively polished, tart, juicy, quite noble fruit, animating acid bite and youthful, fine tannins, dense and persistent on the palate, somewhat herbal and quite clearly peppery spice, nutty and delicately bacony tones, herbs, certain depth, salty minerality, interestingly becomes more tart and pithy with air, very good, firm finish. Even better than a year ago.

Editor note: Clear, firm, rather cool nose of mixed berries and cherries with fine herbaceous nuances, a hint of pepper and floral aromas. Polished, fresh, finely juicy, youthful fruit, delicate smoky, nutty and again peppery notes, herbs and floral hints in the background, some bite, fine, crumbly, yet still youthful tannin, citrus traces in the background, a little salt and iron, persistent, certain depth and power, very good, firm finish.
