2015 D.O. Ribera del Duero Gran Reserva, Castilla y León, Spain

Firmly woven, tart, slightly bacony nose of ripe, predominantly black berries with peppery notes, some dark pepper spice as well as meaty, tobacco and cedary hints. Ripe, juicy, somewhat warm fruit, slightly ashy, bitter chocolate and again hinted at cedary flavours, ripe, fine sandy tannin, some tobacco, roasted sweet paprika in the background, ethereal notes, lots of power, good depth, some oregano and pepper, very good, tart, slightly drying finish with noticeable alcohol warmth.
