2004 Boca DOC Vigna Cristiana, Piedmont, Italy

Partly dried and candied red and black berries on the nose, spicy notes, some dried flowers, earthy and mineral notes. Clear, elegant, juicy and quite polished fruit on the palate, hint of sugar candy, elegant tart spice, some undergrowth and wilted flowers, persistent, fine tannins, light acid bite, mineral notes, very good finish. Currently at its peak.

Editor note: Clear nose, ripe red berries and some plums, touch of provencale herbs, earthy and floral traces. Clear again on the palate, fairly cool fruit, vegetal, floral and earthy notes, fine dusty tannins, fairly persistent, quite austere, touch of old oak, beginning to show some maturity,becomes more juicy with aeration, good to very good finish.
