2013 Bolgheri Superiore DOC Ornellaia, Tuscany, Italy

Clear, quite deep, very firm scent of ripe black berries and some cherries with moderate, somewhat spicy wood aromas, a touch of dried flowers, a little tobacco, liquorice and dried herbs. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit, still distinct, somewhat toasty and tobacco wood, present, yet ripe and predominantly crumbly tannins, dense and persistent on the palate, restrained power, some depth, still quite undeveloped, quite complex, very good to long, slightly warm finish with lots of dark fruit and woody spice.
