2020 Spätburgunder trocken Barrique, Baden, Germany

Somewhat warm, clearly smoky, woody and slightly tarry aroma of black and red berries with dried, vegetal nuances, a little mushroom, meaty and bacony hints, tobacco, tomato paste and soot. Ripe, partly preserved, very slightly sweet fruit, fine sandy, rather friable tannin, moderate acidity, floral, smoky and again also tomato flavours on the palate, quite a lot of power and good persistence, hints of olives in the background, a little Mediterranean herbs, a hint of salt, not eternally deep, good to very good, a hint drying, again also delicately sweet finish.
