Red and black berries on the nose, light hint of oranges, mineral traces, herbaceous notes, light smoky and roasted notes, spicy oak. More oak on the palate than one would expect from the nose, smoky notes, some cedar and fairly prominent tart roasted aromas, chocolate, predominantly dark fruit, fairly prominent and quite fine tannins, only slightly astringent, full-bodied, creamy with good depth, not really very typical for a Chianti, but very well made, dark fruit and dark chocolate on the finish.
