2017 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Riserva Extra Brut "1919", Alto Adige, Italy

Yeasty, nutty and somewhat dried-vegetable to herbal aroma with pome fruit notes, a hint of cauliflower and hints of wax. Ripe, melting, somewhat warm fruit, nutty aromas, wax and brown butter, moderate, fine mousseux, somewhat creamy on the palate, but also with slightly drying tannin, tobacco traces in the background, a little dried mushrooms, black berry and cedary nuances, a touch of salt, hints of black pepper, quite complex, gains tension with air, very good, again a little warm finish with tart tobacco aromas. Very powerful type, nothing for further ageing, but now very good in its warm, somewhat broad-shouldered way.
