2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva "Mantsch", Alto Adige, Italy

Aroma of ripe dark forest berries with some undergrowth and cedary and tobacco barrel notes. Ripe, juicy, rather tart dark fruit, again mainly wild berries, some smoky, roasted and cedary notes, crumbly-sandy, ripe tannin, persistent on the palate, good substance, noble bitter chocolate on the palate, persistent, has power with rather moderate alcohol, a little tobacco and tobacco ash, Mediterranean herbs, also dark ethereal spice, very good, firm finish with dark juice and tart-smoky, somewhat bitter wood.
