Clear, firm nose of ripe blackcurrants with light smoky, cedary and tobacco wood spice, a little mint and hints of black olives. Clear, almost cool, tart-juicy, firmly knit fruit, minty-herbal flavours, some smoke, hints of tobacco and roasted nuances, fine sandy, ripe tannins, persistent on the palate, some bitter chocolate, also peppery traces, then salty minerality, good depth, firm structure, definitely has power, but remains on the elegant side, very good, firm finish with noble juice and fine spice.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2035+. What our ratings mean
