2019 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Riserva "LR", Alto Adige, Italy

Smoky, spicy and somewhat buttery nose, becoming finer and more precise with aeration, warm yellow fruity aromas, some toast and dried mushrooms, artichokes and root vegetables. Tart, bright fruit with nutty and smoky wood flavours, butter, caramel, a little pickled apricots and again artichokes and some root vegetables, a lot of power and good persistence, also salt in the background, then butter cream and some wood bitterness, very good, quite firm finish despite a certain creaminess.
