2018 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Blauburgunder Riserva "Zeno", Alto Adige, Italy

Very slightly almondy and leathery scent of ripe red and some black berries with tobacco notes and a hint of malt. Ripe, melting, warm fruit, again malty tones, tobacco and almonds, fine sandy tannin, a little smoke on the palate, some power and warmth, good persistence, ethereal-spicy tones in the background, very good, ripe-juicy, somewhat smoky finish. Seems to develop a bit faster than expected.

Editor note: Somewhat herbal, slightly dried-floral and very delicately smoky scent of red and black berries with tobacco traces. Clear, ripe, tart-juicy fruit, has power but also cooling elements, fine, crumbly tannin, some bite, nutty and somewhat chocolatey wood notes, lasting, good substance, some depth, mineral tones, a little smoke and tar in the background, very good, firm, tart-juicy and spicy finish.
