2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Pinot Noir Riserva "Trattmann", Alto Adige, Italy

Tart, firm, smoky and somewhat woody nose with rather restrained, clearer black and red berry notes with aeration, bacon, some tobacco and earthy, vegetal nuances. Ripe, warm, partly preserved fruit, smoky and somewhat chocolaty wood, bacon tones again, dried vegetal to herbaceous flavours in the background, quite present, somewhat drying and sandy tannins, good persistence, lots of alcohol, cocoa and coffee notes in the background, chalky and salty hints, very good, albeit somewhat drying finish with a little jammy, rather red fruit, noticeable alcohol and lots of smoky wood.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2029+. What our ratings mean
