2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero Riserva "Thalman", Alto Adige, Italy

Somewhat smoky and dried-vegetable to herbal aroma of red berries with a hint of dates, grilled peppers and black berry notes as well as hints of tobacco and pepper. Ripe fruit with clear smoky and candied nutty wood, some cocoa and mocha on the palate, lots of power, good persistence, notes reminiscent of dates again, a certain acid bite, more juiciness with air, smoky and slightly tobacco flavours, some chalk and salt, slightly muted, somewhat noticeable alcohol, still young, very good, firm, slightly herbal and again salty finish with smoky wood and dried stone fruit.
