2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva "Siebeneich", Alto Adige, Italy

Somewhat spicy, nutty and a hint of blood on the nose, mixed berries and cherries with a hint of leather, dried herbs and tomato paste. Ripe, tart, juicy, quite firm fruit with nuances reminiscent of coffee grounds and ivy, fine sandy tannins, good persistence, some bitter chocolate and sooty wood in the background, hints of morels, almost stony minerality, very good finish with noticeable alcohol warmth and sweetish spice.
