2022 St. Magdalener / Santa Maddalena DOC Classico "Vigna Premstallerhof - Select", Alto Adige, Italy

Relatively cool, somewhat nutty, earthy and hints of animal on the nose, predominantly dark berries, but with air also more red berries and a little cherry with a hint of dried herbs, marzipan and smoke. Straightforward, tart, juicy fruit with spicy wood flavours, fine tannins, some persistence, roasted almonds, tobacco and dark chocolate in the background, salty minerality, hints of soot, still a little closed, very good finish. May still mature a little.
