2018 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gries Lagrein Riserva "Select", Alto Adige, Italy

Chocolatey-woody and a little smoky and tobacco aroma of ripe black berries with a little dried herbal and very slightly sooty aromas. Ripe, juicy, slightly warm fruit, toasty and somewhat smoky wood spice, grippy, ripe, present tannin, persistent on the palate, somewhat smoky and sooty, chalk and salt in the background, bitter-chocolate tones, very good, again relatively woody finish.
