Herbal nose of ripe, predominantly black berries and some cherries with notes reminiscent of mixed pickles, shiitake mushrooms, some smoke, cigar tobacco and beetroot. Ripe dark fruit with smoky and a little mushroomy notes, crumbly-sandy tannins, some ashy wood tones, persistent and powerful on the palate, quite clear bay leaf and some leek, restrained sooty bitterness, nutty tones, plus bitter chocolate and pepper, very good, firm, almost a little sweetish finish.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2030+. What our ratings mean
