2014 Côtes duTarn IGP Merlot "La Maze", South-west France, France

Smoky and dried-meaty, also peppery-spicy and a little toasty aroma of ripe, partly dried predominantly black berries with Provence herbal notes, dried mushrooms and a little tobacco and tar. Ripe, warm fruit with smoky and spicy wood aromas, herbs again and a little tar, powerful and persistent on the palate, peppery tones, some iodine, earthy and salty in the background, noticeable alcohol, very good finish with herbal notes
