2020 Roero DOCG Riserva, Piedmont, Italy

Somewhat smoky and roasted, also woody aroma of more black than red berries with a little iodine, cloves, soya and tar. Ripe, warm fruit with clear, nutty, roasted and smoky wood, malty tones and relatively much chocolate, present, ripe, slightly sandy tannin, persistent and powerful on the palate, some coffee in the background, herbal malt, certain depth, seems a little thickened overall, also a lot of wood on the finish.
