Fairly firm, tart, iodised and fleshy aroma of blackcurrants, blueberries, tomato paste and Mediterranean herbs with peppery nuances, rust, some mint and floral nuances. Ripe, juicy black fruit with nutty, slightly tobacco, bitter chocolate and roasted flavours, coffee on the palate, a little dark ethereal spice, paprika in the background and again a hint of rust, fine sandy, youthful tannins, lots of power and a certain alcohol warmth, herbal notes, very good, juicy and spicy finish.

Best to drink: 2024-2029+. What our ratings mean
