The headquarters of the company is located in the San Cassiano area of the city of Alba (province of Cuneo) in the Italian region of Piedmont. At the beginning of the 19th century, the family ran a small restaurant business in Santo Stefano Belbo and also produced wine. Here Riccardo Ceretto learned how to make wine and moved to Alba in the 1930s. He founded the Casa Vinicola Ceretto and processed purchased grapes into wine. In the 1960s his sons Bruno (*1937) and Marcello (*1941) joined the business. After a visit to Burgundy, they acquired a number of vineyards and introduced new methods. Finally, in 1994, a factory for the production of hazelnut products was set up and in 2005 two restaurants were opened in Alba.

In the meantime, the next generation is working in the family business. After his training in Alba, Allessandro (son of Marcello) gained experience in wineries in Bordeaux, Australia, California and South Africa and is now the responsible oenologist. After graduating in economics and business administration, and a marketing certificate from the University of California, Federico (son of Bruno) is responsible for sales management. Lisa (daughter of Marcello) is responsible for administration and Roberta (daughter of Bruno) for public relations and communication

In 1987 the Cantina Ceretto Monsordo Bernardina was acquired on the outskirts of Alba, where the headquarters of the wine-growing branch is located and where the wines of the four cellars are collected and marketed. This is where the wines from Langhe and Roero are produced. The remaining three are Cantina Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto (Barolo), Cantina Bricco Asili in Barbaresco (Barbaresco) and Vignaioli di Santo Stefano in Santo Stefano Balbo (Moscato wines). The vineyards cover about 160 hectares

The white wine varieties Arneis and Moscato d'Asti(Muscat Blanc) are cultivated, as well as the red wine varieties Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The environmentally friendly, sustainable cultivation is carried out according to the guidelines of organic (eco-) viticulture. The entire production is carried out according to certified ISO standards, the quality control according to the guidelines of HACCP. The product range includes a number of DOC/DOCG wines. These are Asti Spumante and Moscato d'Asti(Asti), and Barbera d'Alba, Barolo, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe and Nebbiolo d'Alba.
