2018 Barbaresco DOCG Serracapelli "Dedicato a Paolo", Piedmont, Italy

Very lightly developed, somewhat tomatoey scent with restrained red and somewhat black berry notes, a little undergrowth, leather, seasoned meat, wild mushrooms and dried flowers. Ripe, melting, slightly warm fruit, nutty, barrel-wood, earthy and mushroomy tones, crumbly-sandy tannin, a little tobacco. Pepper and juniper in the background, also some root vegetables and lovage, very slightly drying on the palate, a little rustic type, very good, tart finish.
