2018 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva "La Palaia" - La Madonnina, Tuscany, Italy

Firm aroma of ripe, predominantly dark berries with nutty, slightly cedary and hints of chocolate. Clear, taut, tangy, almost cool fruit, a little cocoa and coffee on the palate, present, fine and ripe tannin, very slightly smoky, fine dark spice, lasting, restrained power, salty hints in the background, firm structure, especially with air quite present wood, very good, tangy, but also slightly drying finish with bite and slightly milky notes. Still needs to mature.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2027+. What our ratings mean
