2018 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, somewhat smoky and woody aroma of ripe black and red berries with slightly meaty-animalic tones and hints of green asparagus. Straight, quite juicy fruit with tart, slightly smoky wood spice as well as traces of liquorice, juniper and tar, quite present, rather fine tannin, some bite, persistent, still undeveloped but polished, very good, tight finish with fresh juice and slightly toasty, cocoa-spicy wood tones. May mature a little.
