2011 Vin Santo di Carmignano DOC Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, deep nose, prominent tobacco notes, oxidative and smoky, iodine and a touch of dried herbs, some raisins. Dried, candied and preserved fruit on the palate, extremely concentrated and very sweet, some bite, elegant grip, prominent apricot fruit, concentrated, deep and persistent, quite full-bodied, still quite youthful, spicy traces and a hint of tobacco in the background, fairly prominent caramel, complex, viscous, more dried fruit and almonds on a long, sweet, elegantly spicy finish. Will mature over a very long period.
