2014 Barbaresco DOCG Batu', Piedmont, Italy

Slightly nutty and slightly peppery nose, red and a little black berries, cherry bark length, bacon, tar, soy sauce, dried flowers and delicate undergrowth. Ripe, tart and juicy fruit with spicy and dried-up floral notes, fine sandy, mature tannins, good substance and persistence, lots of grip and fine bite, some depth, touch of licorice and dark chocolate, dried herbaceous notes, a touch of tobacco, in Background minerality, very good, firm, juicy and somewhat ethereal finish with slightly bitter coffee tones.
