2009 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer, Alto Adige, Italy

Deep, fairly intense nose, slightly perfumed and complex, melon and lychee, rosewood and mineral notes, medicinal herbs. Straightforward, compact, soft lychee fruit on the palate, delicately bitter medicinal herbs, touch of rosewood and rose water, hint of licorice in the background, mineral traces, integrated acidity provides backbone, shows its origin, varietal character, full-bodied and quite deep, but also surprisingly elegant, delicate herbs and spices, slightly bitter on a long finish. Immaculate.
