The "Burkheimer Winzer am Kaiserstuhl eG" has its headquarters in the community of Vogtsburg-Burkheim (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German winegrowing region of Baden. It was founded in 1924 by 44 members at that time and has about 65 hectares of vineyards. Managing director is Gert Schmidt, and Dominik Schweizer is responsible as cellar master. The vineyards of the 302 member companies comprise 108 hectares of vineyards in Burkheim's individual sites Feuerberg with 58 hectares and Schlossgarten with 50 hectares. The white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau,Pinot Gris, Silvaner,Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Muskateller, Scheurebe and Sauvignon Blanc as well asPinot Noir are processed. In addition to the basic line, the wide range of products includes the "Alte Rebe" (from vineyards at least 25 years old) and "ViniGrande" lines. In years suitable for the weather, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein are also pressed. and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. An attraction is the wine educational trail. During a walk through the vineyards you can experience and learn interesting and worth knowing facts about locations, grape varieties, vine care, growth, cultivation methods and the history of the Kaiserstuhl viticulture.
