Very full-bodied on the palate, dried fruit and slightly sooty oak, notes of bitter chocolate, sandy, astringent tannins, fairly persistent, lots of alcohol and heat, not particularly deep, appears overdone, traces of licorice and violets in the background, quite a good finish.
