2018 Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione "Vigna del Capannino", Tuscany, Italy

Toasty, somewhat cocoa- and coffee-spicy nose of very ripe, partly preserved mixed berries with tobacco nuances, iodine and iron, a hint of aubergine, black olives, oregano and floral nuances. Ripe, tangy fruit, nutty-roasty wood, very slightly bitter spice, present tannin, some bite, lots of power and noticeable but integrated alcohol, good persistence, clear minerality, juniper in the background, bitter chocolate, slightly muted in the very good, dense, tangy and bitter-spicy finish.
