2021 Nieder-Flörsheim Frauenberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and deep, smoky, somewhat yeasty and quite clearly herbaceous-vegetable scent of ripe yellow fruits with black berry aromas, floral nuances, a hint of sesame and lots of minerality. Almost cool, tart, ripe fruit with lively acidity and grip of ripe tannin, persistent and quite dense on the palate, tobacco aromas, intense, bright, chalky-stony minerality, nutty and smoky traces, a little yellow spice in the background, vegetal tones reminiscent of seaweed, good depth, gripping, very good to long, firm, tart finish with juice, nuts, light tobacco and again almost dominating minerality.

Editor note: Firm and quite deep, somewhat herbal and very slightly reminiscent of capers and ginger with fine, restrained yellow fruity aromas, seafood, delicate sesame, soy and clear minerality. Clear, cool, very tightly knit, fine-juicy fruit with lively, polished acidity, delicately yeasty notes, some herbs and distinct minerality, persistent on the palate, straightforward and elegant style, bone dry, deep and complex, delicate grip, smoky traces, capers again, very good, tart, fine-juicy and again very mineral finish with herbaceous-vegetable tones and plenty of draw.
