2019 Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Rather tart, slightly nutty and a hint of dried-vegetable scent of red and black berries with dried mushrooms, damp undergrowth as well as floral and leathery traces. Ripe, somewhat warm, partly pickled fruit, smoky and toasty notes, coffee in the background, some dark chocolate, crumbly-sandy, still a trace of drying tannin, a little malt, slightly plummy sweetness, also cinnamon and chocolate, good very good, warm, toasty finish with pickled juice.
