2019 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Grumello "Rocca de Piro", Lombardy, Italy

Tart, quite firm and deep, a little tobacco and slightly nutty aroma of more red than black berries with dried floral tones, leather, dried flowers and a hint of tar. Tart, dense, fine-juicy fruit, red and black berries, some smoke and hints of bitter chocolate on the palate, behind it a little coffee grounds and tar, friable, yet rather youthful tannin, delicately ethereal notes on the palate, reminiscent of juniper, good depth, quite complex, very good to long, firm, tart-juicy, again smoky and nutty finish with salt, a little coffee and tar.
