2018 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Grumello Riserva "Buon Consiglio", Lombardy, Italy

Somewhat leathery and dried floral aromas of predominantly red berries with herbal-vegetable aromas, a little tobacco, fennel and smoke. Clear, ripe, quite juicy red berry fruit, slightly smoky, nutty and hints of roasted spice, very fine acidity and present, yet crumbly tannin, certain warmth and power on the palate, tomato paste and plums, persistent, a hint of paprika powder, some root vegetables, clear minerality, smoked salt, almost Mediterranean impression despite its origin, very good finish with juice and spice.
