2012 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Inferno "Fiamme Antiche", Lombardy, Italy

Fairly deep, cool, tart nose, vegetal notes, some tobacco, delicate tart red berries and some elderberries, old oak and undergrowth, light nutty, peppery, earthy and herbaceous traces. Clear, fairly cool fruit of small red berries on the palate, noticeable acid bite, fine dusty tannins, nutty notes, old oak, some gogoa, hint of tobacco, earthy and light salty notes, good persistence, some depth, clear contours, very good, tart finish, still slightly astringent.
