1997 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella Riserva "Rocce Rosse", Lombardy, Italy

Translate to English Nussiger sowie etwas alt- und unterholziger Duft mit zurückhaltenden schwarz- und rotbeerigen Aromen, etwas Leder, Tabak und erdig-mineralischen Anklängen. Herb und fest im Mund, zurückhaltende, reife, entwickelte Frucht, tabakige und nussig-altholzige Aromen, getrocknete Blüten und ein Hauch Kakao, sehr feines, präsentes Tannin, zarter Säurebiss, nachhaltig am Gaumen, gewisse Tiefe, deutliche Mineralik, gewürzige Spuren, mittlere Kraft, in sich ruhender Stil, sehr guter bis langer, herber Abgang mit tabakigen Aromen. Gereift, aber noch immer sehr präsent und fest.

Editor note: Mature, ripe, slightly sweetish preserved and dried berry fruit on the nose, some hibiscus and chocolate. Firm on the palate, has structure and persistence, delicately tart, elegant, mature fruit, mature tannins, shows its origin, mineral notes on a long finish.
