2016 Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Umbria, Italy

Firm and deep, warm, nutty, somewhat woody and leathery aroma of partly dried black and a little red berries with tobacco aromas. Ripe, firm, tangy, again partly dried fruit reminiscent of wild berries, smoky, nutty and dried herbal to tobacco aromas, present, massive, fine sandy, youthful tannin, persistent on the palate, dense and pithy, herbal and bacon hints, coffee, lots of power, good depth, still undeveloped, salt in the background, spicy nuances, very good, firm finish with ethereal notes and some tobacco.
