2015 Umbria IGT "Contrario", Umbria, Italy

Clear, firm, quite polished aroma of partly preserved, mainly dark berries and cherries with tobacco, moderately woody and earthy tones, long pepper and a little bit of dried herbs. Taut, tart, rather dark fruit with relatively lively acidity and very firm, present, youthful, but still fine tannins, dense and persistent on the palate, much power, but also astonishing freshness, good depth, moderate, somewhat toasty wood notes in the background, tobacco notes, salty minerality, good depth, some smoke, plenty of grip, still completely undeveloped, very good, tight, fresh and juicy and a little ethereal-spicy finish with draught.
