2007 Montefalco Rosso DOC, Umbria, Italy

Tart nose, black and red berries, light leathery notes and some soup greens, earthy and mineral notes, hint of black olives, old oak. Tart, almost austere on the palate, quite full-bodied, tart fruit, dark chocolate, earthy and salty mineral notes, dried vegetal notes, good persistence, acid bite, contoured, noticeable alcohol, dark chocolate again as well as partly dried fruit and soup stock on the finish.
