2005 Montefalco Rosso DOC Riserva, Umbria, Italy

Fairly mature nose, cassis and some blackberries, dried herbaceous as well as salty earthy notes, light cedary touch. Fairly mature on the palate, full-bodied, mature, partly dried fruit, cedar again, toasted oak, fairly prominent, slightly sandy tannins, more salty earthy notes, dried herbs, some candied almonds and a hint of chocolate, noticeable alcohol, persistent and has some depth, full-bodied and slightly astringent on a very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2014+. What our ratings mean
