2004 Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Chiusa di Pannone, Umbria, Italy

Preserved and partly dried red and black berries on the nose, some tar, earthy and mineral as well as heerbaceous notes, spicy oak. Creamy, full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, very concentrated fruit, spicy oak and chocolate, some licorice and a hint of tar again, earthy and mineral as well as herbaceous notes, very firm, fairly prominent fine tannins, hint of liqueur, very good long finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2018+. What our ratings mean
