2004 Montefalco Rosso DOC Riserva, Umbria, Italy

Preserved mixed berries on the nose, candied nuts, light smoky notes, prominent oak. Full-bodied on the palate, more prominent nutty oak, some chocolate, very ripe fruit, very creamy, fairly prominent and quite fine tannins, persistent, not particularly deep, lactic traces, noticeable alcohol, slightly obtrusive nutty oak and chocolate on an otherwise good finish.

Editor note: Partly candioed and partly dried mixed berries on the nose, preserved plums, roasted notes. Full-bodied, juicy with roasted and spicy oak, vanilla, some cocoa, gairly prominent, medium-fine, slightly astringent tannins, vegetal notes, very creamy on the palate, good persistence, not particularly deep, good finish slightly dominated by orasted oak.
