2003 Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG passito, Umbria, Italy

Preserved and dried black berries on the slightly oxidative nose, cherries and plums, with some licorice, dark chocolate and caramel. Sweet and juicy in the mouth, more light oxidative notes, prominent but quite fine tannins, persistent on the palate, full-bodied, good depth and firm structure, slightly noticeable alcohol, prominent nutty notes on a long finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2012+. What our ratings mean
