2020 Barbera d'Asti DOCG "I Bricchi", Piedmont, Italy

Clear, quite firm, polished nose with tart, rather dark cherry and berry tones, a little herbs, restrained barrel notes, pomegranate seeds and floral nuances. Ripe, yet relatively tart, quite firm, juicy fruit with distinctly nutty flavours, a hint of tobacco and a little allspice, ripe, rather crumbly, yet supporting tannins, persistent, very fine acidity, a little dark ethereal spice in the background, hints of cocoa, very good, almost cool finish with mineral notes.
