2020 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Tart, a touch floral nose of more red than black berries with slightly old barrel tones, a hint of ash, a touch of tar as well as earthy, rooty and tomatoy nuances. Ripe, juicy, slightly warm fruit, nutty and moderately barrel-woody tones, quite friable tannin, persistent on the palate, a little dark ethereal spice as well as hints of smoke and tar in the background, some "sweetness", marmalade and tomato nuances, a little sour cherry, slightly flowing contours, not eternally deep, good to very good, warm finish.

Best to drink: Ende 2023 bis 2030+. What our ratings mean
