2017 Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione, Tuscany, Italy

Bottle image in HD without watermark

Clear, firm aroma of predominantly dark berries and a little cherry with smoky, tobacco and delicately ashy tones, some dried herbs, black olives, undergrowth and tomato paste. Fairly tightly knit, ripe, tart and juicy dark fruit, smoky, nutty and slightly ashy flavours, somewhat cedary, present yet fine tannins, dense and persistent on the palate, restrained power, a certain acid bite, undergrowth and dried mushrooms, hints of dark ethereal notes, still young, good depth, very good, firm, tart finish with pepper, rosemary and again ethereal coolness.
