Quite firm, somewhat nutty and slightly tobacco aroma of ripe black and a little red berries with a hint of dried flowers and liquorice. Ripe, a little warm fruit, nutty and dried-vegetable tones, again some liquorice, crumbly-sandy tannin, some persistence, not very deep, noticeable alcohol, good finish.
The red grape variety comes from the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. The name means "little blue" (Mali = little, Plavac = blue). It was first mentioned in 1841 as a "typical Dalmatian variety"....
