2016 Toscana IGT "Riecine", Tuscany, Italy

Tart, quite firm red and black berry nose with a little cherry and pepper, a little dried herbs and some tar. Dense, juicy, ripe, polished fruit, very fine, still rather youthful tannin and animating bite, partly ethereal spicy tones and a hint of herbs on the palate, persistent, good depth, salt in the background, certain warmth, but also cooling elements, quite complex, yet still rather undeveloped, very good, tart-juicy, spicy and mineral finish. Was already deceptively accessible in its youth, tastes excellent now too - but still needs time.
