2008 Venezia Giulia IGT Sauvignon Kolaus, Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Candied citrus, pomaceous fruit and Cape gooseberries (physalis) on the nose, some quince and elderberry, herbaceous and yeasty notes. Clear, elegantly juicy, tart spicy fruit on the palate, full-bodied and very creamy, noticeable alcohol, old oak, touch of candied nuts, good persistence and grip, noticeable alcohol again as well as delicate waxy notes on a good to very good finish.
